My name is Sami Vrana and I am a Junior here at SFA and a
Communication Sciences and Disorders major and a Deaf Education minor.
This semester, I am starting the process of training to become a
licensed level 1 American Sign Language interpreter through disability
services! This is so exciting to know that it is only a matter of time
before I will be a licensed interpreter. Aside from that I am also a
jack walker!
This
week, I had the privilege of giving 2 potential students the lumberjack
experience in American Sign Language! These two students were Deaf and
showed great interest in SFA! Both commented multiple times on our
absolutely beautiful campus and all of our amenities. We were also
complemented on our campus accessibility for Deaf students and how our
campus reminded her a lot of Gallaudet University, a widely known
university for the Deaf. This is just another example of how everyone
can enjoy the lumberjack experience and how SFA is fully accessible to
both Deaf and hearing.
Thanks and AXE EM!
